Is it true that the flagpole from Scott’s Discovery expedition (1901-04) is now at Scott Base?

Yes. The flagpole had been at Winter Quarters Bay since Scott’s 1902-04 expedition and was found lying on the ground near the old hut and was presented by Admiral Dufek to Sir Edmund Hillary in 1957.  Only part of the flagpole makes up the present pole from which the New Zealand ensign is flown (and other flags such as the Royal Standard on special occasions).
